About Us

Albany School front

Albany Elementary is one of three elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school that serve the Delaware Community School Corporation.  Albany is a kindergarten through fifth grade building, located in the small town of Albany, Indiana.  The current student population of approximately 300 reflects a homogenous population.

The Albany Elementary School family is dedicated to helping every student develop academically, emotionally, and socially in a positive and accepting environment.  We are committed to preparing our students to function as productive citizens who are ready to meet the challenges of an ever-changing diverse society.

Besides the regular classroom teachers, special area teachers provide education in art, music, and physical education.  Additionally, Albany provides support through a learning disabilities teacher, speech/language and hearing specialist, and a school counselor.  All teachers and instructional aides are considered “Highly Qualified” as defined by the No Child Left Behind Act.   It is the goal of Albany Elementary to provide students with quality instruction in all content areas.
